San Mateo County Veterans Services Office

The San Mateo County Veterans Services Office was established in 1946 by the County Board of Supervisors to assist military veterans and their families access veterans benefits in a compassionate and professional manner. The office continues that tradition today.

Veterans services are provided by the County of San Mateo Human Services. The County Veterans Service Officer (CVSO) is trained by accredited representatives by the Offices of the General Counsel of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs on the benefits available to veterans. The CVSO is a county employee, and not a VA employee. The CVSO can assist you and your family in submitting claims for benefits to the Department of Veterans Affairs and will provide follow-up service to insure that you receive the benefits to which you are entitled.
